Simon had leads to monitor his heart and breathing. He could not eat due to birth defect in his esophagus so he needed a pic line (central line) to provide his with all the nutrition his body required. This was the hardest thing for me to accept. The fact that I would never be able to feed him anything by mouth or even put it into his tummy. Everything needed to go directly into his veins. |

We stand before our church with Simon and dedicate his life to God. I talked about how thankful we were to have been blessed with the time we had been given. As I stood there with him in my arms, his heart monitor alerted us that his heart was slowing down. I knew this would be his last task. So we prayed with the church that day to be strong when Jesus came for him. As the tears began to flow down my cheek, Simon smiled. There was not a dry eye in the entire church that day. |
Simon had the sweetest little feet. |

Brian loved Simon so much. He was always so proud of him. This is the only photograph I have with Simon's eyes open. When he would hear Brian's voice, he always looked around until he could see his daddy smiling at him. |

![]() Here we are as a family. Tyler is holding Simon, and Cody is at my side. Tyler adored Simon and held him as much as possible. Cody was a bit hesitant, but he was only 1 1/2 when Simon was here with us. I think all the tubes frightened him a little. |

Brian and I saying good-bye. Here we sing to him, tell him it is ok to go now and that we will see him again someday. ![]() |
We wanted to have Simon's funeral in our church where we dedicated his life. It was beautiful. We had Simon's casket covered with flowers. I could not bare to see him in his casket so we chose to have his service with it closed. Brian and I put together a slide show and had someone playing the piano while singing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and Jesus loves me as the slides were shown on 3 large screens. ![]() |
